THE COMPANIONS: The irritating TEGAN JOVANKA, an Aussie air hostess in a lilac uniform (Catchphrase: "Oh, rabbits!"); NYSSA, a dull but fanciable galactic aristo in tiara and (memorably discarded) flouncy skirt; ADRIC, tiresome know-all and TARDIS 'stowaway' in mustard space pyjamas; And the sinister TURLOUGH, a 'renegade companion' sent to kill the Doctor, cunningly disguised as Nicholas Witchell on a night at School Disco. And of course, the brief reign of shape-changing robot KAMELION, of whom we had high hopes of being the new K9, with all the attendant Mat Irvine guest spots on Saturday Superstore that promised. Alas technical difficulties semi-permanently exiled him to the TARDIS broom cupboard. |
