TRIAL OF A TIME LORD: Following Tom Baker, who after seven years of boggling and quipping, was (and still is) "my Doctor" to more viewers than any of his predecessors, was always going to be a tough task for the pleasant, open-faced star of Sink Or Swim. Truth be told TV Cream actually quite liked the Davison years, but given they were largely filled by lots of people all talking in the TARDIS a lot, it's understandable why many tuned out. It didn't help that the show suddenly started drifting around in the weeknights schedules after decades anchored to the Saturday post-Bough beefburger and chips slot. Nobody reminisces about "eating my tea and waiting through Sixty Minutes and hiding behind the sofa when the Cloister Bell rang", do they?
