IT'S THE END: Spread-eagled on the TARDIS floor, and played by Sylvester McCoy in a loose-fitting syrup, the Doctor regenerates for no discernible on screen reason (high cholesterol?), although behind the scenes it's all been entirely due to treachery and Colin Baker not being available to come back and shoot the handover as he's spending the night with his ex-girlfriend.
