TRIAL
OF A TIME LORD: More like execution obviously. After the 1989
series, the BBC made the decision to outsource Doctor Who to an
independent production company. Cue lots of rancorous bids from
ex Who luminaries all insisting that their version would be the
best. We seem to remember something about Naked Eye proposing to
do a six-part series starring Tom Baker. Oh, and it was all to be
shot on film. Yes, this seemed to be the most important attribute
about any Doctor Who bid – it had to be shot on film. Of course
bugger all happened for years and years.
